Melanie is a Birth Boot Camp Doula and Childbirth Educator and Thrive Mama Collective Postpartum Doula who was born and raised in Oklahoma. She attended Oklahoma Baptist University for a bachelor’s of art in Kinesiology and Sports Management. She worked as a Domestic Violence Advocate for 4.5 years and then became a stay at home in 2019.
She had a positive hospital birth experience and shared it openly on social media and quickly realized her experience was rare. This sparked a passion to help women have a better birth experience. The desire was there but the timing to pursue birth work occurred in 2021. Melanie has an all or nothing attitude when she chooses to do something so she obtained her doula certification and childbirth educator certification within a month of each other and will attend a postpartum doula training in March of 2022.
She has a passion to change the narrative of birth experiences because she knows the impact that your birth experience has on your postpartum period and the rest of your life. Being a part of such an intimate experience is a great honor and is so unique every time.
Melanie has an entrepreneurial spirit and believes in doing what brings her joy. In her free time, you can find her singing with her band 737 or flying a hot air balloon with local balloon company, Visionary Balloonworx. Melanie believes in finding the magic in what you do and sharing it with others.
