Taryn Goodwin is the owner and founder of Thrive Mama Collective in Oklahoma City. Taryn created Thrive Mama Collective to help families thrive in their childbearing years through an array of services and collaborative community efforts.
Throughout her pregnancies and births, Taryn developed an immense passion for all things related to pregnancy and birth. Taryn offers compassionate and holistic midwifery and birth services through physical, nutritional, and emotional support from preconception through the postpartum period. Taryn believes that for most low risk women, birth is not a medical crisis, but instead a inherently safe event. However, we know when skilled intervention is needed and recognize that having a well trained birth team is paramount when planning your birth. Taryn attends homebirths and births at The Edmond Birth Center.
To date Taryn has served in the following capacity: Attendance at hundreds of births, which included training and participation in antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal care since 2011. Taryn has supported families through un-medicated births, waterbirths, homebirths, birth center births, VBAC births, and more. She has worked with 6 different midwives in Oklahoma. Taryn has assisted approximately 1500+ antepartum exams, 400+ postpartum exams of mother and baby, and 100+ neonatal exams. Taryn has current certification for CPR and certification as a Neonatal Resuscitation Provider co-sponsored by the American Heart Association and the American Academy of Pediatrics.
Taryn is grateful to have a husband supportive of her endeavors and two wonderful children. When Taryn isn’t working or studying, she enjoys traveling with her husband and two children, cooking or baking, and tending to her urban homestead, chickens and all.
