Strong Mama Fitness

Strong & Steady Mamas is a group fitness class designed for newly postpartum mamas (babies under ~1 year). Mamas will engage in functional movements to build strength and improve cardiovascular health and yoga poses to quiet the mind and connect with the breath. Each week, mamas will learn movements and breathe work they can put in their self-care tool box. The class will focus on loving and accepting our postpartum bodies, becoming strong, and gaining knowledge & confidence to live a strong and steady life.
Please note: This is NOT a “boot camp” style class. Weight loss may be experienced by some, but is not a focus of the class. Please assure you have been cleared by your OBGYN or midwife to resume exercise.
Babies welcome! Some, but not all of the movements may be done with baby in a soft-structured carrier. Breastfeeding friendly, of course.

Jenna Myrick is a breastfeeding, babywearing, new mama & group fitness instructor with over ten years of experience leading women’s fitness from yoga to Crossfit to Turbokick. She is passionate about empowering women to embrace their bodies and use exercise as a form of self-care. Her teaching philosophy meets participants where they are by providing both modifications and challenging enhancements to movements all grounded in safety and effectiveness. She is excited to be part of the community at Thrive Mama and help YOU on your healthy mama journey.
